2nd Annual
Barbeque Cook-off Will Provide Winner National Recognition
The 2nd annual
Kennedale Youth Association received a Texas State Proclamation to provide the
winner an automatic invitation to the American Royal Cook-off and a chance in a
drawing for the National Jack Daniel’s Cook-off, two of the most prestigious
barbeque cook-offs in the world. The
event will be held April 13th and 14th at Kennedale
Speedway Park benefiting the Kennedale Youth Association.
The event is sanctioned through the Lonestar Barbeque
Society and is expected to draw competition cooking teams from throughout Texas
to Kennedale. The inaugural event was
held in August in 100+ degree temperatures and brought 26 teams to the
area. This year’s event is expected to
do much better by moving the date to April and with the State
Proclamation.
